Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history. Confirm if whatsoever updates were installed on that date.
On the WIndows update page click on Advanced Options and so Choose how updates are delivered.
On the "Chose how updates are delivered" page if the first selection is turned on, the MS is using your figurer as a "mule" to deliver updates to other people. That would account for network use.
Likewise check in the Recycle bin, if someone was using your system and they were sloppy, there could be deleted files at that place ("sloppy" because there is an selection to delete files without putting them in the recycle bin).

If install the TCPIPView utility, will I be able to view what was downloaded on 11/16/2017 during a specific time period? Something downloaded that used 15 GB, however, I cannot find information technology. I practice know that information technology occurred on xi/16/2017 betwixt 5:xxx PM and vi:xxx PM.
Is the TCPIPView utility safe to download?

I went to the Windows Update History, there were no updates for 11/xvi/2017.
I practice not come across the "Advanced Options" on the Windows Update History page. Is in that location another method to go to the Advanced Options?
Is there a method to view what was downloaded on 11/16/2017 during a specific time period? Something downloaded that used 15 GB, however, I cannot detect information technology. I do know that it occurred on 11/xvi/2017 between 5:30 PM and 6:xxx PM.

Hi, Paul, TCPIPView is safe, I would not put you incorrect . . .
Actually TCPIPView is more for monitoring your network activity should this sort of thing happen again . . .
Equally for what was downloaded on 11/16/2017 between 5:30 PM and vi:30 PM
There are 2 possible ways to notice that out:
i.
Open Windows File Explorer and double click on your C Bulldoze in 'This PC'
Click in the Search Box
The Search Ribbon should become active
Click Date Modified driblet downwardly and choose Today
Then click the blue text in the search box, a calendar will announced
Select the 16th and give information technology time to search - it tin be a while
In the resulting search, yous should be able to see what downloaded . . .

Click your Start Button, type Consequence Viewer and hit Enter
This volition open the Upshot Viewer app

I will effort both methods and get back to you with my results. I volition too try the TCPIPView utility. Is the utility TCPView or TCPIPView? Sorry for all the questions, I meet TCPView has nifty reviews.
I cannot express my concern, every bit I had my identity stolen 4 times and caused enormous bug.

Lamentable, I do not know of any way of identifying what was up or downloaded during a specific time. At that place are many utilities that tin monitor you cyberspace use. Hi Dave,
I used the event viewer to view my PC activeness for 11/16/2017 between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. I see several warning messages and mistake messages. It appears something was trying to download and install some apps or security files, I'yard non sure.
Could I email y'all a couple of screen shots of the result viewer and get your feedback? I actually do non understand what was occurring on xi/16/2017, only it did final for most 2 hours and looks a bit suspicious to me. I do not see a way to adhere screen shots on this community web site, perhaps I can reply back with the text?

Can you do one thing for me:
Click your Start Push button, blazon winver and hitting Enter
In the resulting dialog, take a annotation of what version No. of Windows 10 you are running (1709, 1703, 1607 . . . etc.)
Due to the amount of information that has been downloaded, I am guess it was the Fall Creators Update that was downloading. If you lot are non running 1709, then that is the most likely scenario . . .
Of you desire to post screenshots you can do that here or upload them to the cloud (DropBox,OneDrive . . .etc.) and post a link here and I will have a look for you lot . . .
