With an audience of over 450 million members, writing on LinkedIn allows your thoughts and expertise to reach the largest group of professionals from around the earth. Content, including blog posts, can help engage your electric current network and attract new connections that tin can help you grow in your career, personal life, and business organisation.

While publishing over 200 articles on LinkedIn, a question I'm asked frequently is, "How can I get started writing on LinkedIn?" This short guide will walk you through the process of publishing your start post on LinkedIn (updated 4/2021).

Step 1: Visit Your LinkedIn "Feed" Folio

To start, visit your "Feed" page, which is separate from your contour. You tin reach the Feed folio past clicking on "Home" in the superlative navigation bar, or by clicking on the LinkedIn logo in the top left-hand corner.

Underneath the header image, add together your headline (title). With the new version of their publishing platform, the 70-character limit for titles has been removed. There is no limit, merely I recommend you keep your title brief while working in a couple of keywords.

After adding your title, click in the space below your championship and insert the full body of the commodity. Scan the post to make sure in that location are no formatting errors due to cutting and pasting the content from a Word certificate or other file. Posts will almost always need to be reformatted after being copied over to LinkedIn'southward publishing platform.

Note: If the article was previously published, lead the body of your article with a short note. This should exist italicized and in the top left-manus corner of the article.

Example: This post was previously published on Entrepreneur.com , or Beginning posted on Medium.com.

Step v: Create/Add your Footer

Content on LinkedIn is bachelor for the world to see, not only those with accounts. Most of your readers won't know who yous are, so tell them! Share a short bio at the finish of each post you create, and make sure to hyperlink in appropriate places.

Additional Tip: Try leading or ending your footer with a call to action, and consider adding a picture of yourself. In me instance beneath, my call to action is "Desire to acquire what content you demand for your pocket-sized business? Take Michael's form on Startup Content here on Skillshare."

If you're satisfied with your postal service and want to share it with the world, click the blue "Publish" button in the top-right corner. Afterward yous click publish, the above box will appear.
